Resume keyword scanner

Compare your resume with a job description and see which important terms you already use — and which ones are missing.

Runs in your browser — nothing you paste here is sent anywhere.

Paste a few sentences into both boxes to see your keyword match.

How to use it

Get more from a keyword scan

  1. 1

    Paste the full job post

Include the responsibilities and requirements, not just the title, so the most repeated terms stand out.

  2. 2

    Use plain text

Copy the text from your resume file. If the paste comes out garbled, screening software may struggle with it too.

  3. 3

    Add only what's true

For each missing term you genuinely have, work it into a bullet that shows you using it — not a keyword dump.

  4. 4

    Re-check per application

Every job post uses different words. A quick scan before you apply shows what to adjust for that role.

Keyword scanner questions

How are keywords chosen?

We rank the words and common two-word terms in the job description by how often they appear, skipping filler words, then look for each one as a whole word in your resume.

Is anything I paste stored?

No. The scan runs entirely in your browser, and nothing you paste on this page is sent to a server.

Should I aim for 100%?

Not necessarily. Some terms won't apply to you, and repeating words you can't back up hurts you in an interview. Aim to cover the terms that honestly describe your experience.

Is this how applicant tracking systems score resumes?

No tool can say exactly how a given employer's system ranks candidates. Keyword overlap is one simple, useful signal — a recruiter still reads the resume.
